About The Position

Responsible for manufacturing, leadership, team building, planning and meeting customer requirements for the Behlen Mfg. teams on 2nd shift.  Recognize Business Unit needs to achieve continuous improvement, improve production velocity, and achieve Industry leading quality and service excellence.  Build strong teamwork utilizing the Global Values framework.

Requirements

  • 3-5 Years metal manufacturing experience
  • Proven ability to work with and build teams
  • Flexible scheduling by working with 1st and 2nd shifts when needed
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Knowledge in the use of computers and manufacturing planning tools
  • 3-5 years of continuous improvement experience
  • A sense of urgency to achieve success with strong motivated teams
  • Ability to work, communicate, and exchange ideas with teams and leaders

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, ensuring a safe and efficient work place is maintained at all times.
  • Lead and motivate the team to create a high performance culture where improvement suggestions are embraced
  • Report and act upon plant or machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians
  • Contribute to the improvement of working procedures by looking for solutions to ensure the best productivity results of the teams and equipment ensuring compliance with procedures, operating instructions, and work instructions.
  • Complete incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure
  • Promote high standards through personal example and provide direction to the team so that each Partner understands the standards and behaviors expected of them
  • Partner with the Manufacturing Manager to support Team Leaders in all departments
  • Work positively with support functions to fully define the processes/procedures/controls relevant to team activities.
  • Feedback to the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, exceeding both Company and Customer requirements.
  • Work with team leaders to achieve manufacturing plan utilizing the concepts of continuous improvement and AIM program.
  • Provide the tools to team leaders and their teams to accomplish the manufacturing plan.
  • Work with team leaders/teams to achieve strong "actively engaged" Partners in Progress, utilizing the tools/concepts available in Behlen Global Values and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor, check, and achieve productivity, effectiveness, and growth through continuous improvement and continuous learning.
  • Practice safe working habits and follow safety policy, procedures and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Ability to work towards continuous improvement of product quality and ISO-9001:2008.
