About The Position

Purpose Test and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties. Other duties may be assigned. Essential Duties & Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions and performance. Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures. Evaluates returns from customer complaints. Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics. Places non-conforming products on hold if necessary. Conducts final inspection audits. Enters data into computer for analysis. Files and maintains quality test records. Verifies set-up parts for machine adjustments. Assists in new product testing development. Tier 1 Requirements Basic data entry/computer skills Ability to read and comprehend quality tools Ability to record measurements from gauges Basic use of gauges Tier 2 Requirements Proficient inspections at either Corporate or EDC Able to generate required records Basic understanding of manufacturing operations Tier 3 Requirements Proficient inspections at both Corporate and EDC Troubleshooting of quality process with escalation Proficient use of gauges Tier 4 Requirements Proficient computer skills with required software Ability to identify potential issues and take action Able to validate required records Internal auditor Proficient knowledge of manufacturing operations Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet software for data entry purposes.
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Knowledge of basic inspection equipment including but not limited to tape measure, micrometers, calipers and a durometer
  • Basic understanding of measurement.
