The Second Shift Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting a multi-discipline maintenance team during second shift operations. This role ensures that preventative and corrective maintenance activities are effectively executed during off-hours to prepare the site for next-day operations. The supervisor drives accountability, prioritizes work, responds to emergent issues, and maintains a safe, customer-focused maintenance environment supporting both facilities and manufacturing operations. Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of related maintenance experience in facilities, manufacturing, or a similar environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating maintenance activities (formal or informal leadership)
  • Working knowledge of one or more skilled trades (e.g., HVAC, electrical, mechanical, general maintenance)
  • Ability to prioritize work, allocate resources, and manage competing demands

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Post-secondary education, certification, or technical training in a related discipline
  • Experience in a mixed facilities and manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance planning process

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians across multiple disciplines including Powerhouse Team, HVAC, electricians, plumbers, general maintenance, and Production Maintenance
  • Plan, prioritize, and assign daily and weekly work to ensure efficient execution of preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Ensure completion and quality of preventative maintenance (PM) activities to support equipment reliability and site readiness
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns, facility issues, and emergencies with urgency and effective decision-making
  • Coordinate and execute maintenance activities and small projects that cannot be performed during first shift operations
  • Assist in maintaining and forecasting budgets
  • Interface directly with second shift operations and site personnel to support production and facility needs
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures
  • Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance, productivity, and workmanship
  • Maintain effective communication and handoffs between shifts, including coordination with first shift maintenance leadership
  • Collaborate in a dotted-line capacity with first shift maintenance managers to ensure alignment of priorities and standards
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to maintenance processes, planning, and execution
  • Includes participation in a rotating on-call weekend schedule (2-3 weekends/year)
  • Flexibility required to support emergencies or critical site needs, including occasional shift adjustments
