We are seeking an individual who is passionate about joining a team in the manufacturing of high quality laminates and films used in a variety of applications including on cabinetry in kitchen and bath applications, countertops and paneling in recreational vehicles and in the enhancement of interior retail spaces. The Multi-stage Operator is responsible for operating a multi-stage rotogravure press and training and directing the support positions of Second Operator and Production Assistant. The operator will ensure the product meets quality standards and is run efficiently but will troubleshoot any production problems. No direct reports.

Requirements

  • Mechanical Knowledge

  • Computer Skills

  • Team Leader Skills
  • Complete Forklift Certification if required
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year technical degree
  • One to three years rotogravure press experience

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules
  • Actively participate in SHE program
  • Use SAP accounting system for all press confirmations and production labeling
  • Operate rotogravure press
  • Operate ink spec viscosity control systems
  • Operate registration controls
  • Camera setup, defect tracking and report out
  • Give direction to Second Operator and Production Helper
  • Thread paper/film through press
  • Adjust blades
  • Gather proper raw materials. Assure and maintain proper raw material levels.
  • Set register
  • Watch product for defects in web
  • Assist Color Match and QC to ensure the delivery of a quality product
  • Troubleshoot production issues
  • Adjust press settings based on production run
  • Install and remove cylinders
  • Adjust ink amounts for proper color matching
  • Complete log sheet
  • Direct Second Operator and Production Helper to make ready next order materials
  • Inspect rolls of finished product for defect
  • Responsible to make sure press is always clean
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Available to work OT/weekends as needed
