Location These positions can expect to work on-site at Wellshire Golf Course five (5) days per week, including weekends, as needed. Denver Parks and Recreation’s Golf Division is looking to hire a motivated Second Assistant Superintendent/Irrigation Technician to join our team at Wellshire Golf Course. This role supports daily course operations, including irrigation system maintenance and assisting with the supervision of the maintenance team. Specifically, as a Second Assistant Superintendent/Irrigation Technician for Wellshire Golf Course you will:

Requirements

Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
One (1) year of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial, agricultural, or related irrigation systems
This job requires driving; requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application

Responsibilities

At times direct, train, and supervise seasonal course staff and be the go-to full time staff for all course maintenance and communication
Assist with fertilizer and chemical applications
Perform irrigation system maintenance
Monitor and troubleshoot irrigation system issues as they arise
Read irrigation drawings and performs construction and maintenance/repair and replacement of broken parts on various equipment including pipes, sprinklers, hoses, and more
Research, introduce, and execute sustainable irrigation practices at the course
Participate in other course maintenance responsibilities including mowing, snow removal, supervision, customer communication, and coordination with the Golf Pro Shop
Operate and maintain various lightweight vehicles and equipment; utilize a computer for diagnosing system problems
Occasionally work and fill in at other Golf Courses to support general department operations
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
