About The Position

Oquirrh Hills Golf Course, located in Tooele, Utah, is a beautiful and challenging 18-hole municipal championship course nestled in the foothills of the Oquirrh Mountains. Known for its well-manicured greens and welcoming environment, the course serves players of all skill levels and prides itself on outstanding customer service. We are currently accepting applications for the Second Assistant Golf Professional position, to help support daily golf course operations. This is a hands-on, service-oriented position that plays a key role in ensuring a smooth and professional experience for golfers. The second assistant works under the direction of the Head Golf Professional and First Assistant Golf Professional, and takes on leadership responsibilities in their absence. Responsibilities include assisting with pro shop services, scheduling tee times, renting carts, selling merchandise, managing the practice range, and backing up cart, range, snack bar, or maintenance staff as needed. This position also helps preserve order and security in and around the pro shop and provides leadership to other staff during assigned shifts. The work schedule varies based on the needs of the course. Expect long hours, split or continuous shifts during peak season, and work on weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings. Seasonal flexibility is essential. Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years old
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of paid employment experience at a golf facility OR education/training in golf operations OR strong golf background with demonstrated administrative skills
  • Have strong computer skills including use of the Internet, e-mail, data entry and reporting, Word, and similar office software
  • Working knowledge of the golf industry, golf etiquette, and pro shop functions
  • Able to perform basic math and operate a cash register
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and work effectively with a team and
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must obtain a Utah Food Handler's Permit and an On-Premise Beer License upon hire and
  • A valid Utah driver's license is highly preferred, with 12 months of driver experience (not including time with a learner's permit)
