About The Position

The position requires a high school graduate or equivalent, with a focus on medical terminology or formal medical secretary training. Candidates should have completed a 2-year Health Science Technology Program or have relevant medical field experience. Computer proficiency is essential, along with specific certifications such as SC Nurse Aide Certification, completion of fundamentals in RN/LPN School of Nursing, or completion of a Surg Tech or EMT course, or a Patient Care Tech course with CNA certification. BLS certification is also required. For those applying for Sec/PCT II, candidates must have worked independently in at least 2 units, delivered one inservice or participated in a special project, and served as a positive role model for students and peers, potentially acting as a preceptor. For Sec/PCT III, candidates should have experience in at least 3 units independently or covered 2+ roles, delivered or participated in two inservices and/or special projects, and maintained a positive role model status for students and peers, also potentially serving as a preceptor.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Previous medical field experience preferred
