About The Position
The Multilingual Learner & Language Arts Teacher at Seattle World School is a part-time position designed for an individual who will teach Language Arts classes specifically tailored for newly-arrived high school Multilingual Learners. This role is crucial in fostering an effective learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The teacher will work under the general direction of the building principal or program manager, collaborating with other staff to enhance the educational experience of students. The tentative class schedule is set from 9:50 am to 1:40 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and from 9:35 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday. In this role, the teacher will be responsible for developing and revising curriculum and instructional materials that align with district guidelines. They will establish learning objectives and standards, provide instruction, counsel, discipline, and supervise students to meet their individual needs. The teacher will also evaluate student performance and progress, ensuring that all students are supported in their learning journey.
