About The Position

Selected candidate will be employed by Seattle Public Schools as a full time Special Education IA with discretion of the central office leadership to assign to specific schools that require additional support on a month to month basis. Regional preferences will be considered. The salary range for this role is set at 6% above the regular Special Education Instructional Assistant. The purpose of the Itinerant Special Education Instructional Assistant Relief positions is to provide a pool for deployment of available staff to meet urgent needs determined by the Special Education Relief Committee. In the event an employee moves to a regular Special Education Instructional Assistant position, the appropriate pay grade will be reassigned. The job of Special Education Assistant/ISE-203 is done for the purpose/s of assisting in the supervision, care and instruction of special needs students in the regular classroom or in a self-contained classroom; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior during non-classroom time; providing information to appropriate school personnel; and attending IEP meetings.
