Employees can expect a full-time schedule of approximately 40 hours per week, including a combination of weekday, weekend, and holiday shifts. Our management team works closely with each employee to establish a consistent schedule that supports both operational needs and personal commitments. Why Gig Harbor? Working for the City of Gig Harbor is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in municipal operations while contributing to a safe, vibrant, and welcoming community. Seasonal employees work alongside experienced professionals, develop practical skills, and learn how local government services operate behind the scenes. POSITION OVERVIEW The seasonal worker performs physical manual labor, public restroom cleaning, trash removal, weed eating, blowing, edging, and preventative maintenance tasks for the public works department. This position is a temporary, seasonal work assignment between April – November with training provided upon hire.
