About The Position

Austin Wildlife Rescue is seeking energetic and dedicated individuals for Seasonal Wildlife Animal Care Technician positions, available in both full-time and part-time capacities, with day and night shifts. The role involves providing high-quality care to over 9,000 wild animals annually, ensuring they receive the necessary treatment and support for rehabilitation. This physically demanding position requires a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to teamwork and effective job performance.

Requirements

• A degree in wildlife management or related field is preferred
• A year of experience working with wildlife is preferred
• Rabies pre-exposure vaccines are required for this position and cost is the responsibility of the employee

Responsibilities

• Cleaning cages
• Feeding animals
• Administering medications
• Maintaining care plans for injured animals
• Providing direction/guidance to interns and volunteers
• Assisting the public with animals they bring to our facility
• Adhering to protocols for animal care and safety
• Communicating needs and issues effectively with coworkers and supervisors
• Following instructions
