About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Water Director, the water meter maintenance worker performs daily water metering responsibilities for the City of Bountiful.

Requirements

• This is an entry level position.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have a valid Utah Driver's License
• Successfully pass a background check, a driving record check, and a pre-employment drug test

Responsibilities

• Replacing meters and reading system components.
• Programming of new AMR when replaced.
• Performs re-reads for utility billing customers ensuring accurate records.
• Replaces or repairs meter boxes along with rings or lids.
• Responsible for trimming grass around meter lids to ensure the lids are locked and to reduce hazards.
• Identifies hazards related to meter box set.
• Assists with installing and programming meters at new installations.
• Other duties as assigned.
