The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and conscientious with a passion for protecting the customer. The primary role will be to perform product inspections during the inbound process to identify incoming damage or defects to prevent them from entering our network. This involves delicate unpackaging and repackaging to ensure no impact to the product or its protection. Flexibility is also important as this role and the department as a whole evolves over time to ensure customer satisfaction. The associate will also be a valued member of the team whose ideas and suggestions will be leveraged to continue improving the process. Quality is dedicated to continuous improvement and seeks associates who are thoughtful and take initiative to solve problems and escalate issues.

Requirements

  • Must be comfortable repeatedly bending, stretching, reaching and lifting up to 75 lbs. unassisted and moving product 150+ lbs. unassisted or via team lift.
  • Must be able to work on the warehouse floor 8 hours a day or more.
  • Strong, consistent work ethic.
  • Comfort with scanning technology.
  • Experience in Distribution or Logistics is a plus.
  • Able to read and comprehend to ensure your safety and the safety of those working around you.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Unload, receive, inspect, and prepare inbound furniture orders which will require manually moving large, heavy goods.
  • Repeatedly bend, stretch, reach and lift up to 75 pounds unassisted and maneuver products 150+ pounds unassisted or via team lift.
  • Use scan technology to document pertinent carton level information, including condition, quantity, and warehouse location of material.
  • Proactively monitor order management systems to ensure that all orders have been received properly and that detailed descriptions are provided for any Overage/Shortage/Damage issues.
  • Perform regular cycle counts to ensure inventory is accurate and up to date.
  • Pick deliveries from inventory and stage them by truck and stop number.
  • Unpack products and following inspections, wipe down and repackage products before being shipped to customers.
  • Provide direct input into the existing user tools and make recommendations for improvements based on your everyday experience.
  • Be a vocal contributor on the team.
  • Work effectively with peers and managers.
  • Identify the most efficient way to complete assigned tasks and ask clarifying questions when appropriate.
  • Able to read and comprehend to ensure your safety and the safety of those working around you.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
