About The Position

The Seasonal Visitor Services Assistant at Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a part-time, seasonal role focused on providing exceptional customer service to visitors. The position involves welcoming guests, communicating information about the Garden's policies and events, and assisting with ticket sales and transactions. The ideal candidate will be friendly, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining a positive demeanor during busy periods.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must enjoy working with people; friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to maintain focus and a positive demeanor during the Garden's busiest and slowest visitation times.
• Cashier experience strongly preferred.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Willingness to work outside and stand/remain active for an entire shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide welcoming and professional service to all visitors.
• Communicate BBG policies, programs, and events to members and visitors.
• Promote membership to visitors.
• Assist in handling point-of-service operations, including ticket scanning, ticket and membership sales, and handling cash and credit card transactions.
• Maintain an excellent standard of customer service.
• Perform any other departmental or related duties and special projects as directed by supervisor.
