About The Position

The Anoka County Parks mission is as a department of Anoka County, our mission is to positively impact the quality of life in Anoka County by providing parks, outdoor recreation, and leisure services for the public. Our mission encompasses the protection of the natural environment, improving the health of citizens, and supporting a strong local economy. The department has an immediate opening for Seasonal Turf Technician who will perform various duties. Some of the critical responsibilities of this position include performing daily golf course maintenance including mowing the course, laying sod as appropriate, preparing new turf, and seeding the lawn. Mow golf course utilizing rotary mowers. This is a seasonal, non-exempt, on-site position. Interviews will take place as applications are received for those selected to move forward in the hiring process.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age by date of application.
Must successfully pass criminal history background check.

Nice To Haves

General mechanical knowledge.
Previous golf course work experience.
Basic understanding of the game of golf.
Obtain or maintain American Red Cross CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications.

Responsibilities

Perform daily golf course maintenance including mowing the course, laying sod as appropriate, preparing new turf, and seeding the lawn.
Mow golf course utilizing rotary mowers.
Perform sand trap, basic tree, and vegetation maintenance.
Assist with irrigation landscape repair, fertilizer applications, special projects, and other general maintenance tasks.
Ensure proper care and safety in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies and communicate any needs or problems.
Promote continuous improvement of safety and environmental practices.
