About The Position

Positions range from permanent clinical float roles (Full time or Part Time) to Seasonal 13-week assignments with significantly higher base pay. Provides direct support to surgeons during surgical procedures. Positioning and prepping patients prior to surgery, ensuring clear visibility for the surgeon by using instruments such as retractors and sponges, controlling bleeding, closing surgery sites using sutures or staples and properly dressing wounds. They also collaborate with doctors and other surgical team members to ensure proper post-operative care of patients.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a certified surgical technician program.
• Completion of a recognized first assistant training program.
• At least one year experience as a surgical tech is required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct support to surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Positions and preps patients prior to surgery.
• Ensures clear visibility for the surgeon by using instruments such as retractors and sponges.
• Controls bleeding during surgical procedures.
• Closes surgery sites using sutures or staples.
• Properly dresses wounds post-surgery.
• Collaborates with doctors and other surgical team members to ensure proper post-operative care of patients.
