About The Position
The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks applicants for the position of Seasonal State Firefighter II. This position involves patrolling state and county forests, woodlands, and other properties to detect wildland fires and assess the condition of access roads. The role includes training with and maintaining firefighting equipment, responding to and suppressing wildland fires, and providing emergency assistance as directed. The position also involves operating fire towers, gathering fire weather data, and assisting in rescue operations. Incumbents may perform park or recreation area maintenance during low fire danger periods.
