RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Functions Maintain high standards for the safety, security, hygiene, and emotional well-being of clinic patients, comparable to the care expected from a responsible guardian. Dispense medications accurately, safely, and in a timely manner, following prescriptive guidelines or standing order protocol. Provide nursing care to trainees, guests, and employees that meets or exceeds industry and professional standards. Conduct thorough examinations of trainees, guests, and employees presenting physical symptoms, adhering to industry standards (excluding initial assessments). Prepare and distribute documentation (exams, accident reports, medical records) accurately and promptly. Ensure incoming medication forms are completed accurately, and notify relevant departments of any special requests or needs professionally and in a timely manner. Maintain confidentiality of medical records and documentation in line with industry standards. Keep the nursing office stocked with the necessary supplies to support daily operations. Adhere to legal and professional standards for storing medicines and prescriptions. Complete tasks and assignments accurately and on time, meeting or exceeding the Nursing Supervisor’s expectations. Supervisory Responsibilities : No Level of Supervision: None Travel Required : No QUALIFICATIONS Required Education Nursing diploma or certificate from an accredited nursing program Active Alabama or Multistate (Compact) LPN License Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Required Experience 1 year of licensed practical nursing experience Experience working the pediatric and/or adolescent population preferred Excellent verbal communication skills for effective engagement with guests and staff Strong skills in medication administration, documentation, and time management OTHER REQUIREMENTS Physical Requirements This position requires walking and climbing stairs to access various buildings and departments, as well as sitting for extended periods (4-6 hours). It involves carrying and lifting boxes and supplies up to 30 pounds, waist-high, and bending or kneeling to store and retrieve supplies. The role also requires the use of sight, reading, tactile ability, and wrist movements for tasks such as administering medications, providing first aid, operating a computer terminal, and assessing patient conditions. Effective communication is essential, with talking and hearing needed to interact with patients, parents, and employees both in person and over the phone. Eligibility Qualifications Must be authorized to work in the United States. WORK ENVIRONMENT Environmental Factors The position operates in a climate-controlled clinical environment and requires working in a confined area alongside other employees. It is subject to the typical hazards associated with the medical profession and involves extensive interaction with small children, parents, guests, and employees. Expected Hours of Work Flexibility is necessary, requiring weekend and/ or overnight hours, based on the Center’s needs and individual availability.
