About The Position

Under the general direction of the Parks Manager and assigned under the direct supervision of the Parks Foreman, splash pad maintenance and repairs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Mows and trims turf at Draper City Splash Pad. Completes work orders and prepares reports and a daily work log. Performs miscellaneous repairs and maintenance. Maintains park restroom. Pulls weeds and maintains landscaping Monitors equipment and water conditions. Assists patrons using splash pad. Keeps facility clean. Performs other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Age – Must be 16 years or older. Education – N/A Experience – No experience required. Licenses and Certifications – o Must pass a lift test of 50 pounds at time of interview. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of – o Aspects of park system related to maintenance and repairs Skilled with – o Learning and following standard safety practices and procedures o Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing o Organizing assigned work and developing effective work methods Ability to – o Use a variety of hand tools including rakes, brooms, shovels, pruner, etc. o Operate riding mowers o Perform manual tasks for extended periods of time o Follow specific and general instructions o Be team-oriented o Perform duties in a manner that demonstrates respect, integrity, courtesy and kindness. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires working outdoors. Tasks require a variety of physical activities. Regularly required to talk, hear, see, walk, sit, stand, reach, use hands/finger to feel, handle, and grip, climb or balance and stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability and discriminating thinking and creative problem solving. Regular exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. (Performance of duties may require working in varied weather conditions such as extreme cold or hot conditions.) Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and dusty or greasy conditions. Occasional exposure to high levels of noise. May operate equipment and drive vehicles. Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requirements
