About The Position

Chaminade Resort & Spa is seeking a talented and driven Seasonal Executive Sous Chef to support the culinary leadership team during peak season. This role is responsible for assisting in the oversight of all kitchen operations, maintaining high culinary standards, and supporting the development of a strong, positive kitchen culture. The Executive Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure exceptional food quality, efficient kitchen operations, and an outstanding dining experience for our guests. This is a seasonal position and would be employed from April until mid-September.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of culinary leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or resort environment.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Experience with banquet and large-scale event production preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen management best practices.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations across all food outlets, banquet events, and specialty events.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring proper training and adherence to company standards.
  • Support scheduling, labor management, and productivity to meet financial goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Assist with menu execution, recipe consistency, and seasonal offerings.
  • Monitor food inventory, ordering, and cost control measures.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house leadership to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Step in to lead kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.
