About The Position

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking team members for their store in St. L-Florissant, MO. The starting pay is $13.75, and candidates must be available week nights from 4-10 PM and at least one weekend day. The role involves delivering friendly customer service, assisting customers in shopping, ensuring a fast and friendly checkout experience, and completing various merchandise duties throughout the store. Responsibilities include truck unloading, maintaining store recovery standards, engaging customers about the Rewards program, and assisting with Omni channel processes like Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS). Team members will also be responsible for merchandise recovery, store in-stock optimization, and adhering to company policies and procedures. The work environment includes a public retail store setting with climate-controlled areas, though some stock rooms may not be climate controlled. The role requires standing for long periods, bending, lifting, and reaching.

Requirements

  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years or older.
  • Retail and/or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver friendly customer service and help customers shop the store.
  • Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience.
  • Complete truck unloading and merchandise duties throughout the store.
  • Maintain store recovery standards to deliver brand promises.
  • Help customers locate products and provide solutions.
  • Execute cash handling to standards.
  • Engage customers on the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.
  • Educate customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
  • Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
  • Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance, including the merchandise return/go back process.
  • Perform Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
  • Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company programs.
  • Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner.
  • Remain positive and respectful, even in difficult situations.
  • Cross train in Custom Framing selling and production.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
