Seasonal Seamstress
About The Position
The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applications for a Seasonal part-time or full-time temporary Seamstress. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of industrial sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, installing patches, reconditioning uniforms, and performing alterations. Will be responsible for performing alterations on trousers, basic changes on coats to include sewing on buttons, hooks, rank chevrons and class strips. Will assist with mending tears and rips in clothing. Responsible for alterations with the Charleston Police department and the South Carolina State Guard. Performs one or any combination of sewing as well as blind stitch, post, sleeve, and cylinder. Also be able to do hand-sewing techniques. Performs other related duties as determined by supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have a minimum of 3 years sewing experience
- Knowledge of industrial sewing machines, and hand sewing techniques
- Experience performing alterations
- Customer service skills
