Seasonal Sales Associate - Cashier or Support
About The Position
Maintains customer service, sales and operational support functions. Acquire knowledge of basic gardening principles, plant types and general care; process information/merchandise through computer system and cash register system; maintain positive interpersonal working relationships with customers, participant employees, volunteers and other Agency personnel; demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. Inside and outside conditions; exposure to strong odors, noise and unpredictable client behavior, occasionally unprotected from weather conditions, temperature changes, frequently uses cleaning and gardening products that contain potentially hazardous chemicals; move objects up to 30 lbs or more frequently. Utilize and operate Agency computer equipment for word processing and data management, telephone system, and other common office equipment.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 18 years of age
Nice To Haves
- Six months experience in greenhouses/garden center or retail gift shop preferred
- Some experience working with people with disabilities and special needs preferred
- Bilingual preferred
