About The Position

The Runner, Merchandising position is a seasonal role at the USTA National Tennis Center, primarily focused on assisting the Merchandising Department with various administrative tasks. The position is located in Purchase, NY until the first week in August, after which it will transition to the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, NY from August 1 through September 12. This role is crucial in supporting the operations of the US Open Tennis Championships, one of the highest-attended annual sporting events in the world.

Requirements

• Must be capable of working at the USTA Purchase, NY office and the National Tennis Center located in Queens during the US Open.
• Capable of moving boxes and some physical exertion.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Pleasant manner and teamwork attitude.
• Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Merchandising Department with various administrative tasks.
• Assist with US Open RL & Generic Staff Clothing Program Distribution.
• Assist with US Open Hospitality Merchandise Program Distribution.
• Assist with on-site gifting requests, including pulling, packaging, and distributing items.
• Count and maintain internal inventory both on-site and at off-site storage locations.
• Work alongside the Director, Merchandise & US Open Merchandise Concessionaire to ensure retail displays maintain presentation quality.
• Assist with US Open E-Commerce photoshoot, including requesting samples, booking rooms, coordinating vendor access, cataloging and returning samples.
