Now hiring: As a Seasonal Team Member, you will provide exceptional service in our cafes and retail markets throughout this holiday season. Please note that this is a seasonal position ending no later than January 31 st, 2025. The Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) located at the Danville, IL , VA Medical Center is seeking Seasonal Retail Associates who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are committed to serving America’s Heroes.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Requires constant standing, walking, and frequent bending.
- Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.
- Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is required for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- Participation in the seasonal influenza program is a condition of employment. It is a requirement that all HCP receive the annual seasonal influenza vaccination or obtain an exemption for medical or religious reasons.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in the service industry is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with retail software and point-of-sale systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assists customers in locating products & provides detailed information to enhance their shopping experience.
- Handles sales transactions efficiently using a cash register, ensuring accuracy & customer satisfaction.
- Restocks merchandise and ensures products are properly labeled for display.
- Maintains a clean & organized store environment, ensuring a pleasant & efficient shopping experience.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
