About The Position

InterHealth Staffing, a for-profit staffing division of TGH, is dedicated to providing patients with excellent and compassionate care. This role is for a Seasonal 13-week assignment, which offers a significantly higher base pay compared to permanent clinical float roles. The Seasonal Respiratory Therapist is responsible for administering pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures to implement treatment, disease prevention, pulmonary rehabilitative, or diagnostic regimes as prescribed by a physician. This includes transcribing and implementing physician's written or verbal orders, assessing and monitoring patient signs, symptoms, behavior, and physical responses to treatments and diagnostic testing. The therapist will recommend and implement appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities, make changes in treatment as per physician orders, and be able to assess and initiate emergency procedures. Collaboration with other professional disciplines is essential to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achieve desired patient outcomes. The role also involves performing all other required duties.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Approved Respiratory Therapy Program with a Diploma or AAS Degree
  • Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Licensed by the state of Florida as a Respiratory Care Professional (CRT or RRT)
  • Current BLS, PALS, NRP, ACLS and/or American Heart Airway Management certification

Responsibilities

  • Administer pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, pulmonary rehabilitative, or diagnostic regime prescribed by a physician
  • Transcribe and implement the written or verbal orders of a physician pertaining to the practice of respiratory care
  • Properly assess, observe and monitor signs and symptoms, general behavior, and general physical response to respiratory care treatments and diagnostic testing
  • Recommend and implement appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities
  • Implement changes in treatment pursuant to the written or verbal orders of a physician
  • Assess and initiate emergency procedures
  • Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery to achieve desired patient outcomes
  • Perform all other duties required
