About The Position

The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks applicants for the position of Seasonal Recreation Facilities Repairer, to perform the following duties: Duties: Inspects recreation facilities to determine the need for repair work and performs maintenance and repair of all facilities and infrastructure including but not limited to painting, mowing, brush trimming, tree removal and building and equipment maintenance. Reviews blueprints, plans, schematics and/or technical manuals for maintenance purposes. Operates hand power tools, generators, tractors, mowers and associated equipment in connection with repair work and maintenance of bicycle trails, fire lanes, gates, fencing and buildings. Picks up supplies needed for maintenance and repair work. Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in the maintenance, repair and/or installation of heating, electrical and/or plumbing systems or in the maintenance and/or repair of swimming pool or ice skating rink equipment, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
  • Substitutions: I. A certificate issued by a recognized technical institute indicating proficiency in a related trade or craft may be substituted for the required experience.
  • Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's License may be required.
