Seasonal Property Maintenance Specialist - Lake Clear Camp
About The Position
The Seasonal Property Specialist assists in all the areas of camp including property and maintenance in compliance with GSUSA, NYSDOH, OSHA, and ACA standards and regulations. This position is responsible for ensuring the usability, safety , and security of their assigned properties, including the grounds, facilities, and equipment by carrying out maintenance activities. Hours are flexible and position can be FT or PT. Lake Clear Camp: Our Camps are unique and shaped by the physical, and outdoor spaces in which they take place, the team-building nature of our activities, and the welcoming environment that we strive to create. Situated on 91 scenic acres of land on a peninsula on Lake Clear is an Adirondack gem. The camp is surrounded by breathtaking state land in the Adirondack Park, adjacent to the St. Regis Canoe area. Facilities at Lake Clear Camp include renovated cabins with full bathrooms, lean-to units, a dining hall, a health center, and buildings for programs and activities. Requirements
- Experience in maintenance, facilities, construction, landscaping, or related work preferred
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work outdoors in varying weather
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded
Nice To Haves
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Passion for working in an outdoor camp environment
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on buildings, cabins, restrooms, docks, and common areas
- Maintain camp grounds including mowing, trimming, trail upkeep, and basic landscaping
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of camp facilities
- Monitor property for safety concerns and promptly address issues
- Support setup and breakdown of program areas, events, and special activities
- Safely operate basic tools and equipment (mowers, hand tools, power tools, etc.)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and storage spaces
- Follow all safety procedures and camp policies
- Collaborate with camp leadership and seasonal staff to ensure smooth operations
