About The Position

The Seasonal Program Athletics Assistant plays an important role in assisting in promoting appreciation for physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This position provides leadership and supervision of the "Road Warriors" Summer Track Program, Summer Youth Volleyball League, and other recreational programs throughout the summer. Ensure the safety and well-being of program participants and perform other duties as required. This is a safety-sensitive position and subject to random drug and alcohol testing .

Requirements

  • High school diploma or currently enrolled in high school
  • Some volleyball or officiating experience required
  • Valid, Class "C" Texas Driver's License preferred.
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR, or the ability to obtain
  • Frequent Standing
  • Walking
  • Ability to perform physical activity to be involved in running during track, volleyball, and officiating duties
  • Use of hands in both fine and gross motor skills to manage equipment and scorekeeping
  • Bending and twisting
  • Ability to move quickly and change directions rapidly during play
  • Ability to communicate verbally and over the phone and radio
  • Ability to comprehend others face-to-face, over the phone, and on the radio
  • Occasional Sitting
  • Lifting to 50 pounds, which may include equipment and materials
  • Frequently works in all settings, which include indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions – heat, humidity, cold, inclement weather- and is exposed to moderate to high noise levels during normal job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage participants in track camp, volleyball league, and other athletic programs
  • Officiate youth volleyball games and assist with enforcing league rules and standards
  • Accurately keep score, track time, and manage game flow during volleyball games and events
  • Ensure the safety of all participants by monitoring activities and enforcing rules
  • Maintain control of games and activities with fairness, consistency, and professionalism
  • Assist with organizing and leading track camp drills, events, and competitions
  • Communicate clearly with participants, coaches, staff, and spectators
  • Monitor behavior and address unsportsmanlike conduct or rule violations appropriately
  • Inspect courts, tracks, and equipment to ensure safe playing conditions
  • Set up and break down equipment for practices, games, and events
  • Respond to incidents or emergencies and report issues to supervisors promptly
  • Support a positive, fun, and structured environment that promotes teamwork and sportsmanship
  • All other duties as assigned.
