About The Position

Creative Dining is looking for a Full Time Seasonal Production Lead. The Production Lead works with the Food Service Director to ensure that high quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation, in a fiscally responsible and safe manner. Works cooperatively as a valued member of the dining services team, assisting with any aspect of the dining services program as necessary.   Start date: May 11th, 2026 End date: August 31st. 2026 Schedule: 4 days a week, 40 hours per week. Actual days will vary based on Camp schedule and will include weekends. The Production Lead position involves the physical work of preparing food in a commercial kitchen environment. These responsibilities include moving inventory, product, carts, tables, etc. as well as food preparation and production using kitchen utensils and commercial kitchen equipment.  Environment may include hot, humid, or cold temperatures.  May require extended working hours at times.  Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years cooking experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of leadership experience preferred
  • ServSafe Certification & ServSafe Allergen Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Comfortably interacts with a diverse population of guests and kitchen employees to provide an outstanding service and working environment.
  • Utilize safe food handling techniques and proper PPE at all times
  • Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
  • Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service 
  • Store food items according to established standards; utilize proper labeling and dating 
  • Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production
  • Works with the Chef Manager to maintain production records (food usage, overages, shortages, customer counts, etc.)
  • Works with the Chef Manager to maintain established logs (food temperatures, cooling temperatures, cooler & freezer temperatures, etc.)
  • Assist production supervisor in the training of new and existing employees to become effective in their jobs 
  • Know the name, description, allergens, and flavor profile of each item being served. Ensure all production employees know the same
  • Review menu screens and signage prior to service ensuring the correct menu items and allergens are listed
  • If work shift requires, properly open and/or close the kitchen
  • Communicate needs and concerns regarding food production, equipment function and kitchen operation to supervisor appropriately, and in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
