About The Position

The Palm Springs Surf Club is seeking a dedicated and reliable Seasonal Prep Cook to join our culinary team for the 2026 operational season. This position supports kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring high standards of food safety and quality.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar role is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Food Handler's Certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items, up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, chop, and prepare ingredients according to chef specifications.
  • Measure and portion ingredients following standardized recipes.
  • Prepare sauces, dressings, and batch recipes as directed.
  • Properly label, date, and rotate all food products (FIFO).
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized prep station.
  • Support line cooks during peak periods by restocking and light prep tasks.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
  • Break down and clean prep areas at the end of each shift.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health code standards.
