About The Position

The Seasonal Patient Care Technician position at Texas Health Central Staffing Office involves working primarily in Region C, with a focus on providing clinical staffing resources for all THR hospitals. The role requires flexibility to float throughout the Metroplex based on business needs, particularly in the Emergency Department. The position is PRN, requiring availability for 36 hours per week, with day shifts and no self-scheduling. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (REQUIRED)
  • 1 year of experience required within the last 3 years (REQUIRED)
  • No experience required if nursing student who has completed fundamentals or military experience with medical training equivalent (REQUIRED)
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire (REQUIRED)

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to patients according to the plan of care.
  • Collect patient data and report significant findings to the nurse.
  • Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
  • Revise patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
  • Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently.
  • Take action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
  • Enter orders into computer or manual systems as applicable.
  • Document accurately and appropriately.
  • Adapt care in collaboration with the nurse to reflect the patient population.
  • Incorporate cultural and religious needs into the delivery of care.
  • Maintain a clean and safe patient environment.
  • Anticipate and meet patient, family, and visitor needs.
