Come join us for the season and make every workday feel like an adventure! 🚀 PARKS MAINTENANCE POSITIONS AVAILABLE: Horticulture: Involves building, planting, maintenance and weed control of flower/shrub beds. (4 people) Mowing: Involves mowing, trimming, edging, blowing and equipment maintenance. (4-5 people) Redstone & Civic Green Parks: Involves general maintenance at Redstone Park including mowing, horticulture, sprinkler repair and turf care. (2-3 people) The normal work schedule is 6:30 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. All applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, dependable and have a strong desire to be a team player. Our seasonal positions are highly valued and help us continue providing the Highlands Ranch community with outstanding parks and recreation programs and services. Pre-employment screening includes background check and motor vehicle record check.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • You must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, participants, and the public.
  • Work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Understand, follow, and transmit written and verbal instructions.
  • Represent the District in a professional manner, exemplifying integrity and excellence always.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties listed above.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with District and industry related safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the safety of self, co-workers, park users and the community.
  • Park related maintenance including but not limited to care of plant material, maintenance of park infrastructure, landscape projects, various equipment operation, minor construction projects, litter control, weed eradication, snow removal, and assists with special events.
  • May operate and maintain specialized equipment and tools as listed below under “Tools and Equipment Used”.
  • Effective, tactful verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fulfills alternate duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by Supervisor.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
