Umpqua Lighthouse State Park Near Florence, Oregon is located less than a mile from the renowned Salmon Harbor Marina on Winchester Bay—famous for top-notch crabbing and sport fishing—Umpqua Lighthouse State Park offers a scenic and dynamic work environment. The park's campground and developed day-use areas sit alongside the serene, non-motorized Lake Marie, where visitors enjoy hiking, fishing, picnicking, paddling, and relaxing on a small sandy beach. As a seasonal, full-time Park Ranger Assistant, you'll work alongside year-round State Park staff to help protect, maintain, and operate Oregon's treasured park lands. Your role may involve tasks in janitorial work, landscaping, visitor services, and park interpretation. Some assignments may also include basic building trades like carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and more. You might also be asked to guide volunteers or seasonal team members in day-to-day projects. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience while contributing to the preservation and enjoyment of one of the state's most beautiful coastal parks. We recruit for seasonal positions each year that generally work June through September; however, the duration may vary depending on the park's specific needs. Housing is available at this location.
