About The Position

Assist with enhancing the physical appearance and experience of the Park District for residents and visitors to our parks and facilities. This position is well suited for someone with a pleasant personality. Must be reliable and show initiative, tact, and productivity.

Requirements

High school graduate.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to learn the proper use of hand tools, grounds equipment and operation of trucks and tractors.
Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays during games and events.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Must have or maintain CPR/AED and First Aid certification and Mandated Reporter certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Operate motor equipment as needed or required.
Empty garbage and litter pick the facility.
Assist with athletic field preparation/repair.
Assist with basic irrigation repairs.
Maintain turf areas throughout the Park District.
Be able to respond and assist with medical incidents.
Ensure safety in the parks and enforce all of the Park Districts Ordinances, Rules and Policies.
Maintain a good relationship with all of the Districts User Groups.
Basic machine maintenance duties.
Lock up the facility nightly.
Patrol the facility.
Assist with ice rink maintenance.
Assist with snow removal.
Assist with special events in other Park District facilities.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Willingly work over and above required daily hours when necessary.
