About The Position

The Seasonal Employee will work under the direction of the Director of Campaign Finance and will assist the Director with carrying out the agency’s campaign finance responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Education: Such as may have been gained through: high school graduate, preferably possession of an Associate's Degree from a college of recognized standing.
  • Experience: Such as may have been gained through employment in elections or campaign finance.
  • Or, any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above.
  • The ability to communicate effectively
  • The ability to be organized and multi-task
  • The ability to work with peers and subordinates

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls to the agency; transmit phone calls and messages to the appropriate persons; assist with the agency phone system; (front desk)
  • Greet, assist, and direct visitors
  • Receive and respond to inquiries of a routine nature, including e-mail
  • Perform data entry and construct spreadsheets
  • Prepare correspondence.
  • Accept and process campaign finance data & reports both manually and electronically
  • Scan and file assorted reports
  • Receive & distribute incoming mail; prepare outgoing mail; maintain & update agency message/bulletin boards
  • Conduct research and compile data
  • Accept reports, forms, and supplies delivered to the agency
  • Liaise with various boards and commissions as well as federal, state and local government officials and agencies on issues related to elections and the agency’s daily operations
  • Responsible for assisting with the processing of incoming and outgoing mail for the Campaign Finance Division
  • Scan, upload, and perform data entry of campaign finance reports filed on paper by candidates, political action committees, political party committees, independent advocates, and ballot question advocates
  • Follow-up on incomplete or deficient campaign finance reports
  • Pursue delinquent and unfiled campaign finance reports
  • Assist in the collection of penalties assessed by the Board
  • Work on assignments as may be directed by the Director of Campaign Finance
  • Assist and inform candidates, political action committees, political party committees, independent advocates, ballot question advocates of their statutory obligations under campaign finance laws
  • Assist in the processing of mail ballots, election recounts and audits, and other duties related to the administration of elections
