Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Use equipment and tools properly and safely.
  • Understand, follow, and transmit written and verbal instructions.
  • Establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public.
  • Represent the District in a professional manner, exemplifying integrity and excellence always.
  • Maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with aquatic management of open space ponds.
  • Maintaining dog‑off‑leash areas and community gardens.
  • Repairing and replacing visitor and trail signage.
  • Supporting trail maintenance projects.
  • Applying herbicides and performing spot mowing.
  • Helping with mosquito control efforts.
  • Removing debris and trash to keep open spaces clean.
  • Participates in special events.
  • Complies with District and industry related safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the safety of self, co-workers, park users and the community.
  • May operate and maintain specialized equipment and tools as listed below under “Tools and Equipment Used”.
  • Effective, tactful verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fulfills alternate duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by the Supervisor.
