Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
Lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time.
Perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Use equipment and tools properly and safely.
Understand, follow, and transmit written and verbal instructions.
Establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public.
Represent the District in a professional manner, exemplifying integrity and excellence always.
Maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

Assisting with aquatic management of open space ponds.
Maintaining dog‑off‑leash areas and community gardens.
Repairing and replacing visitor and trail signage.
Supporting trail maintenance projects.
Applying herbicides and performing spot mowing.
Helping with mosquito control efforts.
Removing debris and trash to keep open spaces clean.
Participates in special events.
Complies with District and industry related safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the safety of self, co-workers, park users and the community.
May operate and maintain specialized equipment and tools as listed below under “Tools and Equipment Used”.
Effective, tactful verbal and written communication skills.
Fulfills alternate duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by the Supervisor.
