About The Position

Are you interested in the wine and spirits industry? The Merchandiser role is a great way to kickstart your sales career in the beverage industry. Reporting to the Strategic Accounts Manager, the Seasonal Wine & Spirits Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring account-level merchandising activities are fully executed and marketing tactics are utilized in accounts. You'll build creative, eye-catching displays, place Point of Sale and activation materials, engage in brand development initiatives, and keep shelves, counters, cold boxes, and windows well-stocked and maintained. This is a seasonal/summer position that will work approximately 40 hours per week over a 12-week time period, approximately mid-May through August and will service the South Coast MA territory.

Requirements

Can communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing

High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Valid Massachusetts driver’s license, registration, and safe driving record
Vehicle capable of transporting POS materials
Regularly lift objects up to 25 pounds and up to 40 pounds occasionally
Hang merchandise materials sometimes requiring the use of power tools
Expect to be on your feet a lot, either standing or walking throughout the day
Requires a good amount of mental focus to handle complex tasks that need concentrated effort and attention to detail
Includes travel and facing various weather conditions when visiting customers, prospects, or vendors
Potential for accidents due to road travel, including traffic incidents, delivery of goods, or the setup of displays, so staying alert and careful is important

Responsibilities

Make sure shelves, displays, windows, counters, old boxes, and retail inventories look their best and meet our merchandising standards.
Use your creativity to arrange point-of-sale items according to brand standards.
Work closely with Sales Representatives to ensure proper inventory levels for shelves, counters, cold boxes, and floor displays.
Keep a photographic record of your displays in each account
Monitor and track displays, counters, shelves, and signage by store
Establish and maintain strong relationships with store managers
Provide brand and product information to store managers and customers as needed
Maximize the distribution of products sold by Martignetti in all applicable customer accounts
Develop strong professional relationships with all customers at all times
Build high impact displays for our portfolio of products in appropriate accounts
Maintain physical inventory and fill coolers at key retail accounts
Monitor & communicate competitive activity as it relates to sales & marketing
Provide support for promotions and special events (may include evenings and weekends)
Comply with legal guidelines, safety requirements, Martignetti company standards and policies
Responsible for assisting in the daily upkeep of the POS warehouse
Responsible for daily paperwork and the proper completion of all company documents
Work with sales team and entire organization to ensure the highest level of customer service.
Completing any and all miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor
Full Time work schedule – Monday – Friday (may include evening and weekend activities)
