About The Position

GreenPoint Ag is a farmer-owned, American-owned company committed to farmers’ success. We are looking for a Temporary / Seasonal Material Handler for our Montgomery, AL Retail Location. This position involves performing tasks essential to agricultural operations at a retail warehouse, including packing, loading, and unloading products for orders using various equipment. The role requires a commitment to safety and maintaining a clean work environment while fostering a sense of purpose and well-being from connecting with farmers.

Requirements

• High School graduate or GED; may be offset by experience
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Experience in agriculture environment preferred
• Experience working in a warehouse environment preferred
• Experience driving a forklift preferred
• Experience working with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets preferred

Nice To Haves

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions
• Possess basic mathematical skills
• Trained or able to operate lift truck if required

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety regulations and guidelines
• Take soil samples in the field
• Handle and store hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations
• Use appropriate PPE when working with hazardous materials
• Ensure correct labeling, secure storage, and proper segregation of hazardous materials
• Regularly inspect and maintain safety equipment
• Perform regular warehouse duties, including product storage, staging, and bagging
• Drive a forklift to transport inbound and outbound products
• Organize products following local procedures
• Follow a logical sequence for loading and unloading trucks/rail cars
• Load/unload pallets and operate bag machinery
• Pull orders according to purchase order requests
• Double check orders to ensure accuracy
• Ensure all equipment is in good working condition
• Assist in equipment maintenance and associated duties
• Maintain a quality and professional image with customers
• Clean warehouse and site for a welcoming and safe working environment
• Work with and assist other employees with various duties as assigned
