About The Position

Marine Detailer and Boat Handler – Spring Run-Up and Summer Launch Season (Seasonal: April 15 – July 4, 2026) River Valley Marine – Long Lake, MN River Valley Marine of Minnetonka is seeking a high-end Marine Detailer and Boat Handler to support our 2026 Spring Run-Up and Summer Launch Season. This is a seasonal, full-time position running approximately April through July, supporting the preparation, detailing, staging, and launch of premium boats in one of Minnesota’s most affluent boating communities. This position works directly with luxury boats including premium pontoons, surf boats, wake boats, cruisers, and performance models ranging from 19 to 40 feet. Our clientele includes homeowners, executives, and experienced boaters throughout the Lake Minnetonka area who expect exceptional attention to detail and professionalism. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering pristine results, operates equipment safely, and presents themselves professionally in a high-end customer environment. This role is critical to ensuring boats are fully detailed, properly staged, safely transported, and ready for customer delivery and launch during the busiest and most important season in the marine industry. Compensation $17 to $23 per hour depending on experience Overtime opportunities available during peak launch periods Seasonal position with opportunity for future seasonal or long-term roles Schedule Seasonal position: approximately April - July. Monday through Friday, 40 to 50 hours per week Typical hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with flexibility based on weather and launch schedules Earlier start times and extended hours available during peak demand This is a recurring seasonal position operating during our peak spring and fall seasons. We are seeking a candidate interested in returning each season to provide consistency and become a valued long-term member of our team.

Requirements

Marine detailing, automotive detailing, or high-end equipment detailing experience strongly preferred
Boat handling, trailer operation, forklift, or marine dealership experience preferred
Ability to operate trucks and trailers safely or willingness to learn quickly
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for affluent client environments
Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced seasonal setting
Ability to work independently while following direction and timelines
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Responsibilities

Detail new and pre-owned boats to showroom and delivery-ready standards including washing, waxing, buffing, polishing, and interior cleaning
Prepare boats for customer delivery, marina placement, and summer launch season
Operate buffers, polishers, pressure washers, vacuums, and specialty marine detailing equipment
Assist with safe transport and staging of boats on trailers and dealership property
Operate company vehicles and equipment including pickup trucks, trailers, forklifts, and yard equipment
Load, unload, and move boats safely between storage areas, service bays, and staging locations
Ensure boats are properly secured for transport and positioned safely on land and in water staging areas
Maintain organization and cleanliness of the lot, showroom staging areas, and service department
Work directly with service, sales, and management teams to ensure boats are prepared on schedule
Represent River Valley Marine professionally when working around customers, private residences, and marinas
