Seasonal Manager, Program Implementation (LA County) Reports to: Managing Director, Program Management Regional Alignment: Regional Director, California FLSA Status: Exempt Position Type: Seasonal, Full Time Term: Immediate Start through August 31, 2026 Organizational Overview Jumpstart is a national early education nonprofit working toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed. We provide evidence-based language, literacy, and life-skills programming to preschool children from under-resourced communities, delivered by Jumpstarters - a broad network of trained college students and community volunteers. Since our founding in 1993, Jumpstart has supported over 209,000 children and mobilized more than 71,000 volunteers. As Jumpstart strengthens implementation across priority markets, California remains a critical region for program delivery, innovation pilots, and summer learning acceleration. Position Overview The Seasonal Manager, Program Implementation serves as Jumpstart’s program execution lead responsible for ensuring the successful high-quality delivery of late spring and summer programming across assigned California communities (NorCal and SoCal). These roles advance early learning outcomes and meaningfully engage volunteers, ensuring a strong local experience that meets the unique needs of children, families, and community partners. Reporting to the Managing Director, Program Management, this role is designed as surge implementation capacity, focused on stabilizing partner execution, supporting program quality, and enabling the successful launch of late spring/summer program innovation initiatives. Managers will work in close partnership with the Regional Director to ensure strong partner experience, operational readiness, and fidelity to program design during this critical delivery window.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in program management, education leadership, or nonprofit program delivery.
  • Demonstrated success in partner engagement and stakeholder management, especially in community or education contexts.
  • Experience managing partnerships or site-based programming.
  • Strong execution and project management skills.
  • Ability to operate independently across multiple sites.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Head Start, state pre-K, or community-based early childhood programs.
  • Early childhood classroom or coaching experience.
  • Experience supporting summer or out of school time programs.
  • Knowledge of data-driven program improvement strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, or related field; master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day implementation across assigned preschool and partner sites.
  • Ensure fidelity to curriculum, dosage, and program model expectations.
  • Conduct site visits, observations, and quality check-ins.
  • Provide real-time coaching and support to implementers.
  • Identify implementation risks and intervene quickly.
  • Support late-stage recruitment and enrollment stabilization efforts tied to spring/summer program delivery, including partner coordination, classroom readiness tracking, and volunteer onboarding alignment to ensure sites launch fully prepared.
  • Support rollout of late spring programming pilot initiatives.
  • Lead implementation readiness for summer programming, ensuring partners are clear on expectations, schedules, and delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate with regional and national teams to stabilize enrollment ahead of launch, including confirming volunteer placement and classroom readiness.
  • Support partner onboarding and training for summer initiatives.
  • Ensure materials, staffing, and schedules are aligned for launch.
  • Monitor participation, engagement, and program quality throughout the summer term.
  • Serve as primary day-to-day contact for preschool and community partners.
  • Support onboarding, communication, and troubleshooting.
  • Gather partner feedback to inform program improvements.
  • Ensure strong partner satisfaction and retention.
  • Support Jumpstarter and volunteer readiness in partnership with regional staff.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and problem-solving as needed.
  • Reinforce expectations for quality interactions and program delivery.
  • Ensure sites have the necessary curriculum and supplies.
  • Track attendance, participation, and implementation data.
  • Support reporting requirements tied to spring and summer programming.
