About The Position

The City of Ridgefield is seeking two reliable and motivated Seasonal Maintenance Workers to support our Public Works Department during the busy season (up to 6 months). These temporary positions offer hands-on experience in maintaining and improving our public spaces and infrastructure. These positions will support the Stormwater team, assisting with the maintenance of stormwater systems and related infrastructure. Requirements

• A strong work ethic and ability to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and follow instructions.
• Any combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the level of required knowledge and abilities may be considered.
• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with landscaping, grounds maintenance, or similar field work is a plus.
• Work Experience with a background in parks maintenance, landscaping or stormwater maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• General grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, vegetation control, and site cleanup.
• Invasive weed removal, site restoration, and planting of native vegetation.
• Safe and effective use of both motorized and manual equipment, such as mowers, light trucks, tractors, power tools, and hand tools.
