Wonderful summer opportunity to work as a Lifeguard at an AWESOME apartment community! No certification? Need to Re-certify? No worries, Paid Certification available! The Palms Apartments is a distinctive apartment living community located in Virgnia Beach, VA owned by Palms Associates, LLC-- a locally, family-owned company that has been in business for 60 years' strong! Flexible scheduling Above average base pay Paid training/Orientation Pool season starts from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, pre-opening, and post-closing hours available. We offer paid certification/recertification for those who meet certain prerequisites and then successfully complete an approved lifeguard training course. Can be a steppingstone to full-time opportunity in property management if you are looking for a year-round position. What would my schedule look like? We offer flexible schedule within our hours of operation: Tuesday –Sunday, 9:30am-8:30pm

Requirements

CPR/Lifeguarding certification is required to begin working; Palms will pay for certification and pay you while you are in training!
Must be at least 16 years old by, or before, Memorial Day weekend.
Must be able to work well with a team as well as unsupervised.
Must be able to work full season through Labor Day (this is preferred, but not required)

Responsibilities

Maintain constant surveillance of residents using the pool and act immediately and appropriately to ensure safety in an emergency situation.
Help keep the pool & pool area in a maximum state of cleanliness and functionality.
Put safety first and be willing to enforce pool rules.
Follow directions and communicate regularly with Supervisor and team concerning the status of the pool and issues that may arise.
