About The Position

The Club at Rolling Hills is seeking a vigilant and dependable Seasonal Lifeguard to join our aquatics team for the summer season (mid-May through mid-September). This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all pool patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies, enforcing facility rules, and maintaining a clean and welcoming aquatic environment. The ideal candidate remains alert, acts calmly under pressure, and provides excellent customer service while working effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Current Lifeguard Certification required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications required.
  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Strong ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Ability to stay alert and focused for extended periods.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor pool and surrounding areas to prevent accidents, injuries, and unsafe behavior.
  • Recognize and respond quickly to emergencies by performing water rescues, administering first aid, CPR, and activating emergency action procedures.
  • Enforce all pool rules, safety policies, and facility regulations in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain constant attentiveness while on duty and avoid distractions.
  • Provide a welcoming, safe, and positive experience for all members & guests.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with members, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Address member concerns promptly and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Perform routine cleaning of pool areas, decks, locker rooms, and surrounding facilities.
  • Conduct routine safety checks of equipment and report any hazards or maintenance needs.
  • Complete daily logs, incident reports, and required documentation accurately.
  • Attend required trainings, in-services, and staff meetings.
  • Assist with pool activities, special events, and operational tasks as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with aquatics staff and support overall facility operations.
