About The Position

The Village of Hanover Park is hiring for the Spring and Summer season of 2025. There are openings in the following divisions: Water, Wastewater, Sewage Treatment, Streets, and Forestry. For each year that a seasonal employee returns to work, they will receive a $0.50 per hour pay increase. The work schedule is Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (some flexibility is available for a limited number of positions). Under general supervision, the seasonal laborer provides general labor to the Public Works Department.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess and maintain in good standing a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor duties assigned to regular maintenance in the off-season.
• In Forestry: turf care, lawn mowing, weeding, watering, tree and shrub pruning, brush pick-up, and possible light maintenance on equipment.
• In Sewage Treatment: lawn mowing, grounds maintenance, painting, mopping floors, hosing tanks.
• In Streets: maintenance of storm sewer systems, curb, gutter, and sidewalk repairs, asphalt repairs, pothole patching, yard repairs, sign work, graffiti removal, and street maintenance.
• In Water/Sewers/Meters: meter reading, painting fire hydrants, assisting in sewer maintenance and Buffalo Box repair.
• In Wells: clean-up, painting, yard work, and assisting water plant operators.
• Follow all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.

Benefits

• $16.00 hourly pay.
• Pay increase of $0.50 per hour for each returning season.
