About The Position

The Seasonal Kitchen Assistant at Sur La Table plays a vital role in enhancing the customer experience by providing exceptional service and support during cooking classes. This position combines a passion for cooking with customer interaction, assisting the Resident Chef in various tasks to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise and/or kitchen equipment up to 35lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Proficiency in basic kitchen skills such as chopping, whisking, slicing, and stirring.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including daytime, nights, and weekends.
  • Valid Food Handlers and/or Food Manager Certification.
  • 1 year of retail sales and/or food preparation and kitchen operations experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 16 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service at all times, creating a memorable experience for customers.
  • Assist with food preparation and class setup, including shopping for ingredients as needed.
  • Wash dishes and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen before, during, and after cooking classes.
  • Support the instructor during classes and look for opportunities to assist further.
  • Contribute to store goals through product knowledge and sales efforts.
  • Handle alcohol as required and perform other duties as assigned.
