About The Position

Tessera is seeking a hardworking and motivated Seasonal Irrigation Technician with a positive/helpful attitude. This is a temporary position and is expected to run up to but no longer than November 30th, 2026. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Perform daily irrigation operations, system maintenance, and repairs to ensure all systems function efficiently and meet contract requirements. Install, adjust, and maintain sprinklers, valves, controllers, timers, and sensors to ensure proper coverage, spray patterns, and optimal system performance Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair irrigation system issues, including electrical and mechanical components. Conduct seasonal system startups, shutdowns, winterization, and freeze protection procedures. Monitor system performance and water usage, identifying leaks, malfunctions, or areas for efficiency improvements. Apply landscaping and turf management practices to support healthy, attractive grounds. Operate hand tools, power tools, and irrigation equipment safely and effectively. Maintain accurate records and provide clear written and verbal communication, including documentation, reporting, and email correspondence. Serve as backup support to the Grounds team and collaborate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, QA inspectors, subcontractors, and military or civilian personnel. Participate in on-call rotation as needed for irrigation emergencies. Ensure all work areas are clean, safe, and free of debris after maintenance or repair activities. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems, including sprinklers, valves, controllers, timers, and related electrical or mechanical components.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose leaks, malfunctions, and system performance issues and make timely repairs.
  • Knowledge of irrigation and basic landscaping practices, including system startups, shutdowns, winterization, and water efficiency.
  • Reliable and safety-focused, with the ability to use hand and power tools, keep accurate records, communicate clearly, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
