Requirements

Age 18+
Reliable, motivated, and a great team player
Able to pass a background and motor vehicle check
High School Diploma or GED required.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Some experience with irrigation or lawn care.
Follow directions from lead techs occasionally working independently to complete daily activities according to work schedule.
Lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Use equipment and tools properly and safely.
Understand, follow, and transmit written and verbal instructions.
Establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public.
Represent the District in a professional manner, exemplifying integrity and excellence always.
Maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

Assist with all aspects of irrigation maintenance
Learning new skills on the job
Supporting a great team and community
Complies with District and industry related safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the safety of self, co-workers, parkways users and the community.
Parkways related maintenance including but not limited to care of plant material, maintenance of parkway landscape, landscape projects, various equipment operation, minor construction projects, litter control, weed eradication, irrigation, snow removal, and assistance with special events.
Perform general landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks.
Work alongside experienced staff to keep the grounds safe, healthy, and well‑maintained.
Participates in special events and assists as needed with other sections within the Park, Recreation and Open Space Department.
Works with other divisions within the department as needed and assigned.
May operate and maintain specialized equipment and tools as listed below under “Tools and Equipment Used”.
Effective, tactful verbal and written communication skills.
Fulfills alternate duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by the Supervisor.
