About The Position

Portland’s only riverfront country club, with an unrivaled culture of year-round golf and spirited experiences that bring active families and friends closer together, Waverley Country Club is currently seeking a dynamic Host to join our team.

Our hosts are the first and last person with whom our guests interact and are key contributors to our success. They are the ones in control of the floor, manage reservations, are knowledgeable about all restaurant details and go above and beyond to exceed the expectations of any guest. We are looking for dynamic hosts with somewhat flexible availability.

The starting pay rate is $18.00/hr. Waverley is a non-tipping club. In lieu of tips, we offer access to the golf course, use of kayaks and/or paddle boards for the river on Mondays, and meals during scheduled shifts, discounts on movie tickets and uniforms, and more. Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Ability to work weekends and flexible hours.
• Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Aware and creative contributor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment
• Memorize table and seat numbers
• Greet members with a friendly welcome and acknowledge them by name
• Communicate member needs and requests to the MOD or server
• Strategically sit members at tables to keep server rotation even and spread out
• Update the manager-on-duty about status of tables and reservations
• Uphold cleaning standards in reception area
• Help to clear and reset tables in busy times
• Perform opening/closing duties and assists with room resets as needed
