About The Position

We're looking for an individual who embodies the luxury lifestyle experience. This candidate will have a passion for exceptional hotel service and who can express that belief in an atmosphere of spontaneity and authenticity. A Thompson restaurant server will engage in casual conversation and create the restaurant experience by their style and service attributes. This seasonal position is for the duration of Frost's Holiday Bar.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of guest service etiquette and proper food and beverage serving techniques in compliance with company standards.
  • Ability to perform all tasks related to restaurant server and proficiently use job-related software, and property management systems
  • Knowledge of cocktails and proper cocktail mixing techniques.
  • Knowledge of wine, beer and all other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Knowledge of food and food preparation techniques.
  • Ability to remain calm in various situations, use sound judgement and effectively solve problems
  • Ability to work quickly, prioritize, and maintain service at multiple tables at a time
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedural manuals
  • Ability to demonstrate cash handling procedures and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, upgrades and percentages
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.
  • Refined verbal communication skills.
  • Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Ensure knowledge of menu and restaurant promotions and specials
  • Take guest food and/or beverage orders and input orders in appropriate point-of-sale system
  • Retrieve and deliver food and beverage orders in a timely manner
  • Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service
  • Serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Ensure serving station is well-stocked at all times
  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions
  • Properly and accurately close guest checks
  • Process cash and credit card payments
  • Breakdown, clean and set-up of tables, buffets, and food stations
  • Set tables according to type of event and service standards.
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership
